Artist Biography

Starting with 'the Great Folk Music Scare" of the 1960's, living thru folk rock, disco and glitter rock, rap and hip hop and still playing the music he loves. Peter Heimlich performs the songs by singers and songwriters he enjoys and urges you to come along and enjoy, and maybe, if you don't know the work of a particular writer, you'll look further into their work. It's pretty eclectic but always enjoyable.

Having done openers for Chris Smither, Elizabeth Cotton, Patty Larkin and others and as backing musician for Bill Morrissey, Cormac McCarthy and others, Peter Heimlich has seen and played with the front line of acoustic artists, fronting his own band in high school and college, and as one half of the folk duo Hazard and Heimlich, with appearances at "The American Way Festival" in Philadelphia for the Bicentennial ceremonies, Gene Shay's radio show and what would become World Cafe at WXPN. Then showcases at The Other End in NYC and a move to northern New England in the late 70's to play clubs, coffeehouses and restaurants around the north.

Now doing mostly solo work with help from talented friends along the way, Peter is expanding his performance areas and would be a good fit for your audiences.
